Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
hi, i don't know where to post this kind of topic, so, i start this new topic under the thread "Titles". Some good films have good quotations by famous persons who once said something intelligent. If you think, our zombie movie could have a quotation at the beginning of the film as well, then read these lines by Dylan Thomas and let me know what you think about. This is just a tiny idea which has comes into my mind:
Death shall have no dominion:
And death shall have no dominion.
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.
Of course, this poem is too long for a movie quotation. I think, the first four lines would be good enough.

Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
I think it's definitely a good idea, but it should bear some kind of significance for the film, not just a witty quote or a nice poem. I know that the poem fits with the general theme of any zombie film, but the quote should also be used to set the film apart from the others. Perhaps a pithy one-liner about web media or something?
Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
I like your idea about a one-liner about the web, Mag.

Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
It's a comedy, so it should be funny/witty as Mag said, yet be short enough for someone to just glance at - people see movies instead of reading books for a reason - they don't unnecessarily want to read. So it could be something like this:
A bit long, but you get the idea.
A master once told his apprentice;
"If you wish to emancipate the oppressed,
search within your ego, find the aspects of benefit,
and fight for fraternity everlasting."
The apprentice stared up at his master,
eyes as wide as the stars themselves,
and with his words rattling still in his ears,
he said; "lol wtf roflmao"

i think the movie was Ravenous
at the start of this flick, they had two short quotes, one from Nietzsche and another, (which i can not remember) but the first was oh so serious, and spoke to the conditions of life and the 2nd one was like some surfer dude......
anyway, i think we should have two- one serious, the 2nd totally, like LMFAO or something like that...

Haha! That's great!

Okay, here's another idea:
Open with something like this (but shorter):
"When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion."
- Dylan Thomas
Then a second of black which leads into:
"zombies r gey lol"
- Lulz0r69
Could be a nice pisstake on the whole "internet makes us stupid" thing.

Is it really a comedy? After having read the first draft, the story appears a bit too serious to me. Surely, there are some funny scenes in that draft, too, but the end of that draft was very depressive (i haven't read the new end which is voted by the majority). You know, almost everyone dies in the end (Ben, Abby, Ethan & Kelly).
Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
I don't see this as a comedy myself in the same way that Shaun is not a horror. Shaun is a comedy with horror and drama elements. This is more of a thriller with horror and comedy elements... At least the way I've understood it.
Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
Hmm, well I've seen it the other way.
But that's just me - I have an extremely dark sense of humour ^_^

Re: Movie Quotations at the beginning of the film
I like this quote....
Start in a dark setting and then we see laptop whizzing through space past earth and the other planets getting faster and faster,
"Space, the final frontier...."

"If you're an alien how come you sound like you're from the North?"
"Lots of planets have a North!"
