Re: The idea of Love
Does lust count as love? It's certain that there will be plenty of blood lust in the movie. And cravings for flesh. Hopefully the characters will have more depth to them. The unanswered question might be who and what will survive? Or will it just be FTW?
Re: The idea of Love.
Love is fine, everyone loves or has loved but lets not have romance and shit. That is chick flick crap.
It's a zombie film. Blood, guts, body parts, blood and blood.

Re: The idea of Love.
See, that's why there are so many crap zombie movies out there that none but the most hard core will watch, because people tend to forget that those things are just the bits and bobs and the heart of a GOOD zombie film is usually more than just zombies and guts. This has been discussed before in other threads. The plot of ANY movie is just the tool and medium with which the film makers forward their underlying themes.
Re: The idea of Love.
Whereas we don't really have a theme!
Love has been incorporated into the script, but do not threat - it isn't what inspires the plot - it's just a side-dish of spicy yumminess.
No sex though, I'm afraid, my perverted chums!

I surprise myself by saying this but... good call.
Re: The idea of Love.
I disagree, Fuzileer. The movie has a theme, or it did back when I was writing for it (who knows now?). The theme was electronic connections equal physical connections. Friends are using cameras, information uses cameras, the government uses cameras, on and on... And all those cameras spill out into the "real" world through the internet. The movie examines all sides of the concept. Friends stay in touch using webcams, they watch videos about the incident on YouTube, the city of London has cameras on nearly every city block, stuff like that. See where I'm going with this?
That's what separates it from other zombie movies. The main characters know pretty much all they need to know before going out into the city. They have cellular technology and the internet to guide them. The fear comes in the anticipation of experiencing what they've seen on YouTube and what their online friends have told them. Knowing what's coming in a zombie movie, it's a new kind of fear. Kind of like knowing a tornado is coming. It doesn't surprise you, but you're still terrified.
Something like that.
Be Well,
Shane

Re: The idea of Love.
I'm not saying that the film should just be gore but, and this is just my opinion, I would rather stay away from romance.
Now if that offends anybody because it's already been discussed elsewhere then I am very sorry.
