You make a lot of very good points, Mitch. I always thought we could fill out the Z-Teen roles with the best of the teenage auditions from London, but I'd completely forgotten about casting for the doctors. If you ask me (not that anyone would! ^_^) we should let the iChannel guys do the autopsy as well, as they'll have less to film than the London shoot and they're pretty good anyway.

Closed Usergroups...

Post by mlansdell on Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:10 pm

Now I may well be coming quite late to the party, forum-wise, but why am I closed out of groups regarding areas I'm actively involved in? Lizz has been kind enough to tell me I'd had some positive feedback on my storyboards (which is kind of surprising, this being a forum on the internet - generally I consider that a way of saying "pit of know-it-all egomaniacs" - and the fact that they're a total rush job as I have a more than full time job and due to the fact the storyboard artists have no time left to do anything because of a seriously delayed script).

How many people in the Storyboard and Writers* groups are actually involved in any part of the process!? So how come when I'm doing something I can't join?

It's really frustrating, and not really a good translation of something that is supposedly a communal, group effort.

Or am I just being a dick?

*Okay, I'm not a writer, but I'd like to be able what writers have to say about my visual translation of the script that I have seen...

You're closed out because up until now, you've not had a forum presence at all. The closed-off section was presumably created to make sure things that needed to be decided on near the end of the script writing were decided on quickly and without fifty people complaining about different things in the forum. However, as far as I know, anyone who's ever said anything about being interested in helping with the script (and anyone who's asked specifically about it like you are doing now) has been let in. Now all you have to do is wait for one of the admins to give you the access you need.

Patience, padawan. ^_^

Your storyboards of the autopsy look really good. The one thing I would have to comment on is that I'd be careful with the close-ups of innards and the like as we're not necessarily able to get anything that looks like human innards. Of course, there's always pig's guts and pig's hearts. As far as I recall, they're pretty similar to ours...

Guts...

Post by mlansdell on Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:30 pm

I've not really gone into detail, I figured whoever does that part will knock up the best they can what is in the script.

Glad you like the storyboards though, it's a shame we've lost about six weeks of time to do them (we have one now, instead!), I would of been able to do a nicer job.

Yeah, it's a shame Bryony couldn't talk to anyone about anything until it was basically too late.

Schedules, etc...

Post by mlansdell on Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:54 pm

I've not been actively involved enough to know what's been happening properly really, it'll be a hell of a thing if this gets pulled off! SUCH a short time scale!

Deadlines?

Next week, I think. Lizz is the one to ask. Are you storyboarding?

Well I figured we aim to just do them as soon as possible, I think if we are still storyboarding while filming starts that wouldn't matter too much would it? would it??

I'll repost what I said in the Editor thread, because I can't imagine Bryony reading anything more than she has to. (Prove me wrong and I'll gladly eat my words, Bryony.) This is a suggestion, not an actual timeline for the film, since no one seems to have actually organised one in real life...

EXAMPLE:
filming starts 11th and 12th and then picks back up on 18th and 19th. With editing being done during the weeks, there's even time for a final pick-up shoot during the 25th and 26th as long as the editors are able to work full-tilt for three days after that.

Someone REALLY needs to set an actual schedule for this thing soon. Set the schedule, decide what's to be filmed when and tell the storyboarding team to hurry along the bits to be filmed first. Let's not beat around the bush here!!

I also said something that may shock you:
GET AN EFFING DIRECTOR FOR THE LONDON SHOOT!!!!

I would like to say THANKS to Karmadee for acknowledging my performance - kind words, thanks. Looks like I am out of the running though as not shortlisted for Ben and everyone very keen on Mag for Ethan. I guess I should have auditioned for both characters like Mag, but then I had always been told not to do that. Oh well.
Also Mag - good to suggest a filming schedule but I am sure more than 4 days with a 2 day reserve will be needed to wrap it all up. Surely a couple of weeks at least?? Rolling Eyes

We don't have a couple of weeks to film. It can't possibly start until next weekend, and like I said, it's not as if filming can go on during the week as people will definitely be busy then. MAYBE one or two long weekends, ie. some filming late on friday, but there are some serious time issues to be dealt with.
