Final word on the script

Guys, the new script is not as good as the one before it, so we are going to use the original one from before the most recent edits. This one: script

I've emailed Alexis to tell her. I'm sorry to all the people who worked on this new edit but honestly, it's not an improvement, and it's not just me who thinks so.

Go ahead and disagree with me, but I'm making a judgement call here.

How the hell is the older one better?
I'd like you to give us some reasons before you just hop away like that.
There was noone in the script team who stood up and said: "this most recent script is far worse" so why are you now going against the majority?
I'm sorry, but this is beyond ridiculous, you're using your position to get what you want. You havent even considered a vote.

Guys, you have to let go eventually. It hurts when a script you've worked very hard on is suddenly trashed, nearly every line of dialogue replaced. I'm not sure you guys have gone through that, but the original writers have. I'm in love with the Ben/Abbey scene that Mitch updated from the first draft but it was changed to something I really just don't "get", I actually hate it. I much prefer Mitch's version where he combined what we wrote with what he wrote. We all have our preferences. But the time has come for us to just let go.

The script Bryony is using is great in so many ways. It's over and it's gonna be good. Let go.

You wanna know why this has ticked me off?
Because this is meant to be a collaborative project.
What Mitch did was rewrite everything us scriptwriters did. We put our time into this as well, you know.
We've had to work around things based upon Democratic voting systems which included votes by people who werent even helping out with the script. We had meetings, we helped each other out and we put everything into this. So now you're going with the version that one guy out of a group of 7 or 8 people rewrote, changing nigh on everything and go on to say its better? Well thats a compliment.
Take it from my POV, I loved working on the Zombie Teen stuff, I put everything into it to make it more "Human" and now its all trash.
I'm almost tempted to say "who cares what you guys think" because we wrote the damn thing whilst everyone was too busy to not get in contact throughout the script writing process.
Regarding what Shane said, thats not the point. Mitch has edited in what he wanted without our consultance. If you wanted a script written by Mitch, here you go. You want one by the script-team? Take the latest one.
Frankly this is an insult to the scripting TEAM.

I have to agree with Shane here. I mean, I still think that some of the changes Mitch made on his own went in the direction of piss-poor, but as much as I hate to say it, this is Bryony's call. It's also my call if I want to act in this film now. I always said I would treat the acting as separate, but I really need to have a good think about this now... Not that I will delude myself into thinking that I have any sway in this as an actor, I'm just saying that this puts my own personal feelings toward this project to a real test.

We'll see.

I've read both scripts now and I have to agree, I thought the first one read much better as a whole from an outsiders perspective and would probably translate much better once filmed. I think its the right decision.

I think parts of the script Mitch did on his own were directly pissing on what was already there. He added things that made things that he kept in seem less important and he substantially changed many scenes to turn them from funny to useless. Like he was begging for them to be cut later.

No, you know what? I'm done. I've said all this before. I'm gonna shut my fucking mouth and let you people get on with what you have been. Have fun.

We have a film to make let's focus on that if everyone is happy with the first draft which they have every right to then let's just go with that...
