30th October deadline: realistically

Post by Paperlilies on Wed Oct 08, 2008 11:19 pm

Ok so as you may/may not know, there is a screening being organised by Hat Trick/the BBC to mark the end of the web series, at which originally the whole film was to be shown. As everyone has screeched at me from here, that's kind of a tight deadline, and so, after meeting up with Tim and Pete, and talking it over, we made the decision to make a single chunk of the film, and make the rest after the screening.

The question remains which bit exactly, which I'd like your input on.

We can definitely have something done by the deadline of the 30th, and it seems sensible to have something well done for then which is shorter, than something longwinded and bad.

maybe get the structure of the story down? Particularly the V-logs as it will show Hat Trick et al that you've involved such a wide range of people?

I vote for the middle chunk involving the Falling Zombies scene and the Zombie Kids scene. Those seem to be some of the most innovative in the script. And I second what Frankie said about the vlogs.

Well, with the time remaining it might be worth simply shooting some of the dialogue scenes between characters rather than zombie carnage. One location, fewer set-ups for lighting/rigging etc.

Perhaps arrange a date for some mass zombie action for a later date with a tad more planning.

There are some very cool vlogs pouring in from around the globe...they should suffice.

Sorry about that. Trigger finger. heh

Yeah, so we don't bite off more than we can chew (pun totally intended), I think vlogs and some character dialogue should suffice for now.

I think it is great to be realistic and get the best quality rather than quantity in the time. hard to choose, but a section which includes all the main characters would be good, so maybe part of the escape with Eric on the phone whilst watchin CCTV would be good?? Smile

I think we should proboably film the 1st like 3 or 4 scenes and show them. Or something dat will leave the audience hanging something like a tv show would due.

Something good enough to show this movie is badass! But nothing to flashy so that we dont give the whole movie away.

vlogs

It might be good to leave it on kind of a cliff hanger, so people are intrested in the next part rather than throwing all the action in at once, i also like the idea about the vlogs, because thats one of the most orginal elements about the movie and gives the sense of the whole internet/user generarated content vibe that is a key draw of the film in my eyes. Some of the vlogs that people have sent in have been enjoyable to watch and im hoping a few more people get some stuff sent in.

I've been inspired to make two vlogs for this myself on seperate accounts. (one with friends and one on my own)

I'm still hopeing more people get invovled with the vlogging side, more so other countries besides the UK and USA.

I think we need more than just a trailer. Dats way to easy! And it would not take dat long to finish this movie. I say 2-3 months tops. 2 months to films or maybe a month then a 1 month to edit the whole thing.
