Also, the car is NOT out of sight. It's just out of reach.
Also: it's not a plot hole, it's another example of them thinking.
Also, what Shane said.

I agree that the infected haven't necessarily died but what about their victims?
I mean they are infected with rage and they are going to kick the living shit out of any uninfected human. If they do surely the victim would die.
George A. Romero has set out certain rules for zombie films which have been followed for years but that does'nt mean that they can't be modified to suit the needs of the story.

Re: WHAts YOur FAv Zombie Movie
If they KILL a human, that human doesn't turn. The only people who turn are the ones who are infected without dying. They turn within thirty seconds' time, so usually they turn before they die. Also, Rage Virus is not the same as a Zombie virus.
Zombies aren't always portrayed as slow and braindead, but they are always dead and rotten. The infected are neither.
Anyway, this doesn't matter at all. It's a good film, so who cares about the minutae and phrasings?

Re: WHAts YOur FAv Zombie Movie
A very good, if misleading, British film. The clueless douchebags responsible for the "Dawn of the Dead" remake decided to make their zombies manic with a distinct ability to reason and I believe they drew those concepts from "28 Days Later" (which wasn't a zombie movie in the first place). Totally ruined it for me.
Thank god for "Shaun of the Dead".

Wasn't a zombie movie, for the simple reason (that frankly I'm suprised no one's mentioned) that whether or not they're infected with a virus, or radiation, or they die before they re-animate, THEY DO NOT CRAVE THE FLESH OF THE LIVING.
Duhhhrrrr!
They KILL, because they're mental and have gone a bit deformed, and are full of RAGE (geddit), and the definition of a zombie is kinda the whole undead cannibalism thing.
They were just weird, not properly explained monsters.
& I never said that once that they weren't biting people or whatever, they just weren't doing it primarily to eat them.
That, AND you could kill them by cutting them in half/ running them over/ stabbing them, etc etc.
There was none of the whole 'If you kill the brain, then you kill the ghoul and it's motor functions, aim for the head', which I think is the main challenge.
Oh, and, Braindead is immense. I kick arse for the Lord.

I AM LEGEND is vampires! Or some weird space agey vampire mutant thing, they changed it.
That's why they only came out at night, and were hurt by the lights.
It's a remake of a Vincent Price film 'The Last Man on Earth', which was vampires.
And it was better.
& my favourites an AMAZING and really under-rated one, called Fido, set in 1950s america after the 'zombie wars' were won, where scientists have invented collars which domesticate zombies, allowing them to be purchased and used as servants and household pets.
A lonely young boy called Timmy gets a zombie, and names it fido, and they become the best of friends. Fido plays catch with him, goes swimming with him, and even fends off the school bullies, until his collar malfunctions and he starts attacking the elderly neighbours..
It's sweet, clever and funny, kinda a lassie meets shaun of the dead type thing, and Brian Connely plays Fido. It's all on youtube if you search for it, you should give it a watch!
Here's the start up

I've never actually seen any of the classic "of the Dead" films. Call me a philistine, but I just never even wanted to. I was always happy with the ones I had seen already. I've seen Resident Evil as well, which was entertaining, but not much more than that.
Philistine!
I kid, but you're missing out, really. Not only is Night Of The Living Dead a gripping zombie flick, it's also a biting social commentary.
My favourite is Zombie Lake. Nazi Zombies, low production values and softcore porn for the win!

I actually hated NOTLD - lord knows why it's still an 18, there's about as much gore in it as The Simpsons.
I'm studying Romero's zombie movies for film studies at the moment and I know it's primary appeal now is the fact it is "the original zombie movie" but, blah, it wasnt my thing. But the comparison between Night and Dawn is astonishing, you wouldn't think it was the same director at all. But that's Romero for you, always trying to push the boundaries of cencorship!

Sorry for that, but these movies are not even considered ''Zombie Movies''
