Re: Video Conferencing
somehow I have got a bad feeling about skype. I know, skype is free for basic functions but nevertheless it sounds too good to be true. I am afraid of being charged of paing lots of money for long conversations with you. That is why I prefer msn because I know for sure, that it is free. Is there a chance for me to tell you my ideas on msn or here on this forum board? If not, can you really guarantee, that I will not have to pay any anything to skype as long as I use it for conversations with you?
Re: Video Conferencing
If you ever have to give your credit card number, it aint free. If you dont... Then it is free.
I personally have used skype, and i have NOT paid anything. EVER. to ANYONE. I believe the only time they charge you is when you use their "telephone" service. But... considering i dont, and i really don't see a reason for you to have to, no worries. And i've never had to give my credit card number to skype.

Re: Video Conferencing
Skype is entirely free as long as you don't get SkypeOut, which is the service that lets you phone landlines. They fund the free VoIP part of it with the SkypeOut system. I have SkypeOut on mine since it's cheaper for me than having a landline phone, but I never pay for my calls to other Skype users either.
Re: Video Conferencing
Plan rates for ooVoo are $5, $10 & $15 per month. I just found out that Skype ceased video messaging on Sep 1st. I'm not actually a Skype user. When a little extra security is needed, one can use live video to verify an account holder. There are a few creeps out there.
Re: Video Conferencing
They did? So why are they selling Webcams on their site still? And why am I able to do video chats in it?
Also, wow. Oovoo is expensive.
