Script - Again.

Post by Fuzileer on Sun Oct 26, 2008 2:30 pm

Yes, its me again, and no, I'm not letting down. I aint stopping until some form of agreement is made.
Some of you guys just dont get it - and I dont think you ever will.
THAT SCRIPT IS NOT THE WORK OF THE SCRIPTWRITING TEAM. IT IS 98% MITCH'S SCRIPT. HE CHANGED THE DIALOGUE. HE CHANGED THE SCENES. HE REMOVED ALL TRACES OF INDIVIDUAL IDEAS BEING INCLUDED AND REPLACED THEM WITH HIS OWN.
The scriptwriting team were effectively backstabbed by Mitch and, in turn, his version was used.
I dont see why in the name of fuck you would go for his version which goes against the whole premises of this being a community project. Bloody dictators would vote for Mitch's script because it had no final input before being sent to Bryony.
Im not going to the Thursday premiere cos I am absolutely furious with the script that has been chosen. None of our work shows through. Me and many other scriptwriters have effectively wasted 2 months of hard and passionate work on this project, how would you guys feel?
I believe that on Tuesday a webisode will be put up on the BBC site including the video that is in my signature.
Watch it and know how we feel for gods sake before you start taking the neutral ground going: "It's alright, hush now". Half of you haven't even encountered the amount of crap we've gone through in this project to get this script done as soon as possible and then be insulted by it not being used.

I obviously prefer the "Team Script", not "Mitch's Script" because I prefer the dialogue and you sense the heart of the scriptwriters coming through, the humour is also more suited for the target audience. But some of you said Mitch's version was better than the late version handed in. Do you know why? Because that ridiculous deadline that only now has been changed, gave the scriptwriters who were sorting out Mitch's mess only 1 day to sort it out. That meant changing the dialogue, reinserting segments of the film, removing the crappy cheesey one-liners. Yet Adz and Bryony dont seem to have taken the team into their thought of mind, prefering to look out for poor Mitch who was designated the leader of the scriptwriting team. Think about it this way, for you actors and directors, what if you did all the filming required for the final film and then got told they were refilming it using a different cast? For you editors, what if you painstakingly took weeks to edit the final film, and then got told another version was being used by one person? This project was never going to be, no, never MEANT to be a perfect functioning project. Its the first of its kind - an internet collaborative project - so you think it was going to be easy? Yet now we're apparently cutting down on collaboration for those lucky enough to be designated in the London area and completley ignoring the requests of the masses.

This project is meant to be fun, we're not intending on generating a profit for our own means - this was a leisurely activity. So saying "Tough Luck" just goes to show that you are a heartless, joyless twat who may as well not be involved in this thing at all when its meant to be something that is enjoyable. Bryony said that shed be the one getting all the credit for this project, whether good or bad. I agree with her, yet its still insulting for me to basically come to the conclusion that she never really trusted us scriptwriters to produce the script for her, so she plays it safe with a one-man script. So thankyou Bryony, thankyou very much for effectively wasting the team's time on this. It certainly was a great bloody plan to basically say: "Screw collaboration, let's play it safe with a one-man-script".

Its insane to ignore pleas like these, to keep ignoring us and pretend its all hunky dory. Theres not even been an attempt to make it up for us for wasting our time. Incoporating segments of our script into Mitch's is the least that could be done.

I dont regret my choice of words, because its what Im honestly feeling about this whole thing.

Fuzileer, I understand why you're angry, but you're not making yourself any friends here.

As someone who's experienced both writing and shooting films I understand a lot of what you're going through, but you're missing a whole chunk of the pie here because you're not on the production side.

I'd love to talk to you to see whether we could resolve some of these issues, but I'm not up for a public debate. My Skype's on the side, or you can pm me.

I can see why you are upset, but what do you want to happen? I'm sorry you feel so let down, but you either have to accept it or move on, because you haven't gotten your way and you aren't going to get your own way now. And you aren't making anyone feel especially sympathetic to your cause.

it seems totally ridiculous to me that it was allll mitch's script and there was nothing left of the other writers in it. ive read all drafts of the script even very early ones and they are not different enough for u to say theres nothing left of what u wrote in it.
if thats true then it seems like mitch wrote most of it from the start and u might aswell remove urself and the others from the credits

I may be a git, but I'm not stupid. Of course my views are different, but I dont expect everything to suddenly turn rainbows and sunshine by putting my points forward. This "complaint", unlike my other posts of disagreement, is not about "my way", but "your way"! This is compeltely against what you had said would happen in all your youtube vlogs and webisodes - its just one big contradiction.

I aint exactly saying "hey everyone, join me in an amazing uprising, wave the flags, woo" am I? As I said before, Im opening up the eyes of the community. The cause I'm fighting for is the ideology you yourself talked about in your videos, the ideology that is longer in motion in this project.

Mitch effectively rewrote the entire script so the basis of every scene is effectively the same. The ideal solution would be for the rest of the unfilmed sections of the script to be swapped with the bits written from the Team's draft.
