Poster Idea

I'm Canadian so we get to do it all haha. Ya that's funny you mention the date. Somebody at my work is from the UK and since we do write out our dates differently, Admin posted her birthday incorrectly. It was marked earlier than her actual, so she got a whole bunch of early birthday wishes haha.

Adz, really cool, actually, it kinda reminded me of the Cloverfield trailers. The movie looks awesome, but you just wonder what the movie is about or if the movie was named 2008... anyway, yeah, (I know that didn't make sense much).

Wow Karmadee, that's awesome! If that was on Deviantart, I'd have favourite that so fast!

I really like the ideas, like from bad wolf and fuzileer (mm, dog!) xD, too!..


So, i thought I'd pitch in too..



- Famous IM service, whether its MSN, or AIM or Yahoo. using webcam.
Stickam or etc, could work as well.
- Eric, or some random guy on the internet, as the subject, with zombies behind him. Not the first zombie pic from Google Images...
- Where links to ads are usually found somewhere, it's replaced with IZM, COMING SOON or the sort.
- And last but not least, the chatting humour. (Caps Lock, Anocryms & Over Usage of Question Marks)

Mmmm internet cookie . Your poster idea is rather scary with the hand coming out of the monitor...I was getting pretty jumpy when I was making mine lol.

Thanks for the comments so far. I'd like to go back and modify my monitor a bit after looking at it for a bit, add an inner shadow to the screen to give more depth and make it less bright in the middle on the frame of it...looking too shiny to me.

To answer your question Shyara, I gained my Photoshop skills 3/4 years ago at the Art Institute of Vancouver-Burnaby. I still use Photoshop at work but nothing to this extent. So coming up with these posters has been refreshing . I still got a lot to learn though.

I modified my second submission. I like this color scheme better. I tried out some new fonts and font styles and added a few details here and there to make it look more polished (i.e. more buttons on the monitor).

Even better this time, Karma. I love the new color scheme, but I'm not sure I like the new font for main the title... Is "too round" a valid criticism?

Thanks vnflcards! When I made the font I got inspired by red blood cells, but if everyone prefers to go back with the original font for a more edgy/grungy look, I can easily update that. I'm indifferent, so I'll make another version for all you wonderful people .

Karma, you've been putting up some really cool stuff here. Really, good work. The first of this new design is actually my favourite all in all, though I did like the colours in the monitor better in the newer iterations. I really don't think the monitor NEEDS more than one button. One button is enough to show... "monitorness". The essence of a monitor. Yeah, great work! Keep it up!
