ONLINE VIDEO AUDITIONS (deadline Sunday 27th July)

I'm going to make a video soon with descriptions of all the main characters in the film, and then have the AUDITIONS!

Basically, there will be some of the script posted, and each person who wants to play a certain character will have a scene to act out infront of the camera. Post it as a video response to the video I make calling for entries. This would be for ALL the main characters, which are from London, NYC, Germany and Australia.

I know this is super soon but I am leaving for the Toronto youtube gathering (go 888!!) so I need to do this right quick!!

Then after that, there is going to be a UK read-through on the 1st August somewhere for whichever people seem like the best actors and the BBC will be there to film it.

What if we don't live in any of those places?

Without wishing to sound overly negative, I have a feeling that acting could be the Achilles' heel of this project. It seems unlikely that loads of good, UK-based actors are going to show up via YouTube video responses in a single week. Wouldn't it make more sense to appeal to semi-professionals? There must be London drama school students who would be up for doing it for free.

For the American stuff, maybe one of TheBabyEaters (eccentric YT comedy sketch group) might be interested. At least one of them (Travis, a.k.a. TheReceptionist) has been involved in making low-budget horror films.

we can still use vlogs from all over the world.

We need scenes from over the world of the "happy chomping" videos, and such like that as well. I can post instructions for making the vlogs and "viral chomping videos" soon.

Yeah, any characters that aren't part of the main storyline will be portrayed through vlogs and "Happy Chomping" videos. If you're not really sure what you should do, you could do a vlog about how you/your family/town/friends/etc.. found out about/are dealing with/can't deal with a small scale/suspected/full scale zombie outbreak. Loads of options and you actually get to decide how you want to talk about it. There won't be scripts for most of the vlogs, they need to be as real and off-the-cuff as possible.

There's room for everybody to give this a go. Of course, there's a possibility some vlogs won't be used but that shouldn't stop you from making a quality submission. The better it is, the more chance it'll make it in. And the reason there hasn't been an announcement for this is we're just not that far yet. Vlogs will more than likely be accepted after August and I'm sure Bryony or one of the administrators will make an official announcement when the time comes.

For now, start thinking about how you'd do your own vlog. Then keep an eye on the board.

Maybe off topic but have been watching alot of the you tube auditions, in reply to Bryony's video & i must say some of them are good.

Don't wish to over step my bounds as writer by saying who to pick for the film personally have a lot of favourites who play the roles so when it comes to choosing a cast it will be tough.

Good to see so many people replying & taking an interest in this film.
