Re: Film now on Youtube
wooo! Can't wait to film some more so I can prove my worth and also kick some butt, the shot of me impaling Bryony's boyfriend was unfortunately cut due to continuity!
Re: Film now on Youtube
Just watched the clip & that was cool, already found it on You Tube & added it to my favourites.
I'm so impressed in everyones work, i loved the vlogs at the start, liked the girl in the opening vlog saying about eating a clown & her on going vlogs, the other vlogs were great they added to piece.
The actors who played the parts of Ben, Kelly, Ethan & Abbie were good in their roles fitted well into them hearing Eric's voice was sweet, be good to see some footage of him in his apartment watching monitors.
Loved the part where Ben looks into the dark of a tunned & a zombie appears before him & Ben & co attack it.
Could not help laugh when Ethan then beating the zombie to pieces ( well could say beat to death but he's already dead ) & the blood spraying over Ben & Abbie.
This first look at the film was well worth a watch, now to finish the piece & make it a complete film which i can't wait to see once its all complete.
Hate to sound vain but think i will saying this it was cool seeing my name on screen as the credits rolled.
All in all it was a wicked promo reel, as said well done to all involved.

That girl was me
World Wide Dead definitely evolved into something much more since Bryony first pitched the idea. I'm really excited to see the rest of the script come to life. The make-up was phenomenal, everyone looked great overall. I have so many good things to say about this film, just from watching this promo. Definitely get's me pumped to see more. I hope everyone that worked on this portion of the film can come together again and finish the rest. Great work everyone!

Whoops karmadee888 didn't know it was you , i would have changed my post to say i loved your vlog but you know that, your vlog had a almost creepy edge to it started off funny but soon lost all hope of things ever being funny again as you/ your character revealed what was happening in her world it fitted in well with the promo footage.
I'm with you having nothing but great things to say about the footage, if that was just a promo think how cool the feature film can be/ will be.
Think i'm just repeating & echoing what others have said what has said before but i can't say enough on how much the footage showed me that all those involved in the IZM/ World Wide Dead Production worked together to make the promo a stunning piece of work & i am happy to be among those people
Lets all carry on as we have started & film the remainder of the script making the film a whole piece.

Re: Film now on Youtube
I liked what I saw, the actors did a good job, just two things:
- The camera is shakey at points where it should be still, were tripods used?
- The Vlogs were good, I enjoyed watching them, but as the start of the film isnt it slightly too long?
Just my views, but otherwise good job and keep it up.

The 'run & gun' filming style is a dominant trend these days (see the films of Paul Greengrass - United 93, The Bourne Ultimatum - for examples of full-on shakey-cam assaults), although I agree that it can be overdone.
Re: Film now on Youtube
it kind of seemed a little bit long i thought. but it was perhaps in the context of the short segment of movie.
maybe itll work with the whole movie.
but yeah maybe a tiny bit shorter..since there will be more interspersed through the movie aswell

Well with this project having essentially no budget, it simply makes it look cheap - may sound silly/harsh, but its like finding an excuse for having no budget/tripod "real-life" effect.
It would work well in low-budget New Wave films, since it almost forces the viewers to remember its not real and instead focus on the characters/drama and imagine themselves in that position rather than be in a hypnotic gaze at the action on-screen, but since this film doesn't need the audience to remember that fact. I enjoy films that use the shakey-cam techniques in various points of the film, but having a very slight "wobble" throughout, as in the footage shown above, would ultimately result in the audience members going: "Why are they shaking it? Is there any reason for it?"
Don't get me wrong, it was good, but when it has a number of quick shots woven together (eg: that bit where they all raise their weapons whilst on the streets and the dialogue) having a shakey camera doesn't help.
Unless the directors were going for a run-n-gun effect, that is.

Fuze,
Tripods were on set at all times and just used for one shot (that of the cc tv camera). Tim wanted to go for handheld shooting style and I fully support that decision. Camera wobble was also added to the shots in post production to give you even more 'run and gun' for your money. Tim mentioned at the screening that although they didn't ask Chris and myself to shoot that way, it was something that was added in post production.
Ultimately, this sort of frenetic sequence wants and needs a handheld shooting style. I'm sure that pieces of the film might need a tripod shots here and there but not for this sequence. It gives it more of an immediate feel I think.
Don't get me wrong, I wield my tripod when ever I get the chance!

Probably not the place to post this but wasn't sure elsewhere to post it.
Now that the promo is out there & i have shown it to all my friends as i am sure have other forum members does anyone does know when production/filming will start back up, or is this still being decided.
I'd love to get involved in the film, be an extra, zombie or body whatever, it would be cool.
